Hambella Wamena sits within Ethiopia’s Guji Zone, a region south of Addis Ababa with a long tradition of coffee cultivation by the Oromo people.
Yednekachew Seleshi is a third-generation producer, continuing a family legacy spanning more than 50 years. For this lot, he collaborates with over 240 smallholder farmers growing local landrace varieties — naturally organic and deeply rooted in the region’s terroir.
Cherries are meticulously hand-picked and delivered to the Haro Burka washing station, where they’re dried on raised beds for 12–15 days, allowing sugars to fully develop and intensify the fruit profile.
Yednekachew’s vertically integrated company oversees sourcing, processing, and export, while supporting farmers through quality training and community initiatives. The company is a Cup of Excellence 2020 winner and a member of Women in Coffee Ethiopia and the IWCA.
In the cup expect tasting notes of uicy blueberry, bright yuzu, and floral undertones, carried by a syrupy body.
