Always love a good White Whale brew, gets my day started just right
Beach House is my normal blend of choice but to add a little spice I thought I might change things up a try something different. Carpenters was the recommendation, long back is my brew of choice and Carpenters is said to be better suited to black coffee (although its not to bad as a milk coffee either).
I have a Breville Bambino coupled with a Breville Pro grinder, basic I now but has worked really well with the Beach House blend, not so with Carpenters. Carpenters as a Black coffee is good, a full bodied coffee, not sweet just coffee however, I found it quite difficult to keep dialled in. It started off well from freshly ground but after a week or so I found the bean to be less predictable and I end up spending more time playing around with grind sizes etc to get it right, then enjoying the coffee. It might just be my set-up, it is only basic and may not handle something as sophisticated as a Carpenters blend.
Don't get me wrong, Carpenters makes a nice coffee however, I'll be switching back to Beach House so I can spend more time drinking a nice coffee then playing with grind/dose settings.
Riptide makes a smooth silky coffee, worthy of sipping whilst taking in cooler autumn mornings. A balanced coffee with gentle flavours it is a winning morning brew in our house.
What a treat of a coffee. Pop open the beans container, and you will be greeted with aromas of chocolate, nuts and anything else you have come to love in coffees from Central America. Just that this coffee is from East Africa!
The flavours only build on this experience further...
Almost too good to have this coffee while working.
Great excuse to pause working for 15 minutes?
